PERSONAL INFORMATION COLLECTION STATEMENT

STATEMENT OF POLICY

The protection of privacy in relation to personal data is the concern of every Hong Kong-based employee in AXA China Region Insurance Company (Bermuda) Limited (Incorporated in Bermuda with limited liability), AXA China Region Insurance Company Limited and AXA General Insurance Hong Kong Limited (referred to hereinafter as “AXA Hong Kong”). AXA Hong Kong respects personal data privacy and is committed to fully implementing and complying with the requirements under the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance (Cap. 486) (“PDPO”) of Hong Kong. Personal data will be collected only for lawful and relevant purposes and all practicable steps will be taken to ensure that personal data held by AXA Hong Kong is accurate. AXA Hong Kong will take all practicable steps to ensure security of the personal data and to avoid unauthorized or accidental access, erasure or other use.

Usage of this application is voluntary, so is your supply of the data concerned. However, the data collected are an integral part of the application’s functioning and hence failing to supply such data might affect your usage of the entire application.

STATEMENT OF PRACTICES

Information collected when you visit this Application

We may perform ourselves or engage with third parties to provide us with certain analytical services to better understand users of this Application. This may involve the use of our own and third party technologies to collect and store anonymous information when you use this application, but we do not collect any information which identifies your personal identity until you are otherwise specifically required to so do. This may include Google Analytics and similar mechanisms. We and our third-party service providers may make a record of your visit that includes but not limited to username, token, device ID, profile API responses, operating systems, IP addresses (and domain names), network provider, language settings, general locations (e.g. at country or city-level), time/duration and the pages on our application visited

Third parties for analytical services

Our third party analytical service provider (e.g. Google Analytics) provides us with certain analysis to better understand our visitors, who may use various third party technologies to collect and store anonymous information (such as IP address) when you visit this Application, and this may include using cookies, web beacons and similar mechanisms to collect information when you click on their buttons, and we do not control the dissemination of these third party mechanisms or technologies. We may have access to this information to permit us to identify other websites that you have visited that are also associated with that third party. In doing so, however, these third party analytical service providers do not collect personal information (unless you explicitly provide it to them), and we do not give any personally identifiable information to them. You have a choice not to accept the cookies, but if you do, certain functionality, i.e. banner redirection and certain content display may not be available.

Retention

AXA Hong Kong ensures personal data is not kept longer than is necessary for the fulfillment of the purpose for which the data is or is to be used

Security

AXA Hong Kong takes appropriate steps to protect the personal data we collected against unauthorized or accidental access, modification, erasure, loss or use.

Personal data electronically sent to AXA Hong Kong is protected through encryption controls (a secure means of transmission).

Collection of Personal Data

1.1. Information that we collect about you and your device. Each time you visit any of the particular features using our mobile application, we will automatically collect certain pieces of data including Device and Usage Data.

1.3. Information that we receive from your use of your device. Certain personal information is collected through your input. Additionally when your device syncs with our servers (including through background syncs on your Mobile Application) , the forms of Data recorded on your device are transferred from your device to our servers are as follows:

(i) Device Data includes the type of mobile device and / or wearables you use, device model number, a unique device identifier (for example, your Device’s IMEI number or the MAC address of the Device’s wireless network interface,), mobile network information, your mobile operating system, the type of mobile browser you use, and time zone setting.

(ii) Usage Data includes details of your use of our mobile app and our website, traffic data, your participation and the resources that you access. This includes the following on our application:

Your username and token, for the purpose of identity authentication;
Device ID
Usage data including:

Visits; includes the scope and duration of your visits and views;
Inputs during your usage and visits;
Status and history of your point transactions and redeemed prizes;
Any other data related to your activity on the application

1.4. Information that we receive from third party sources. We will receive your usage data and Device Data from analytics providers, including Google Analytics that have operations globally;

Usage of Personal Data

In providing you with services available on this application, AXA Hong Kong collects your personal data which may be used, stored, processed, transferred, disclosed or shared by us for purposes (“Purposes”), including:

Human resources (“HR”) management purposes, including the implementation and administration of our staff benefits;

Intra-group communications

Monitoring compliance with internal rules of the Company, including the rules and etiquette with regards to the usage and participation in the mobile application’s features

Monitoring the application’s usage to provide us with insights into continuous improvement of the application and related campaigns, as well as for profiling;

Administer and protect our company and mobile application including troubleshooting, data analysis and application testing (including but not limited to security testing)

Other purposes directly relating to any of the above.

If you wish to stop profiling activities, please inform us in writing to the address in the section on “Data Access and Correction”. However, this might affect your usage of the entire application.

Transfer of personal data

Personal data will be kept confidential but, subject to the provisions of any applicable law, may be provided to third-party contractor and related sub-contractor(s) or affiliate(s) that are involved in developing, maintaining and data storage for our mobile application, thereby providing administrative, information technology or other services to AXA Hong Kong and who has a duty of confidentiality to us.

Transfer of your personal data will only be made for one or more of the Purposes specified above.

Data Access and Correction

Under the PDPO, you have the right to ascertain whether AXA Hong Kong holds your personal data, to obtain a copy of the data, and to correct any data that is inaccurate. You may also request AXA Hong Kong to inform you of the type of personal data held by it.
